System, method and computer program product for registering products and promoting customer relationships

A method for at least registering a product with a provider, the product being provided by a provider and received by a recipient, the method comprising a computing system associated with the provider:

• generating a symbology comprising a single decodable uniform resource locator (URL) for at least indirectly accessing a website comprising a first webpage, wherein the symbology is configured to be decoded by a computing device associated with the recipient;
• formatting an electronic registration record comprising an association between the URL and a product specific identifier corresponding to the product;
• storing the electronic registration record in a memory;
• receiving the URL from the computing device associated with the recipient;
• and
• in response to receiving the URL:
• determining the product specific identifier based at least in part on the URL;
• identifying the stored electronic registration record based at least in part on the product specific identifier;
• sending the first webpage to a web browser of the computing device associated with the recipient, wherein the first webpage includes fields configured for receiving personal information associated with the recipient for registering the product;
• receiving the personal information associated with the recipient from the web browser of the computing device associated with the recipient, wherein receiving the personal information occurs at least partially in response to sending the first webpage;
• amending the stored electronic registration record to include the personal information associated with the recipient, at least in part to register the product with the provider, such that the personal information associated with the recipient is stored in the memory in association with the product specific identifier;
• and
• amending a lookup reference associating the URL with the first webpage to associate the URL with a second webpage, instead of the first webpage, such that the second webpage is provided to the web browser of the computing device associated with the recipient in response to any subsequent receipt of the same URL from the computing device associated with the recipient, wherein the second webpage is different than the first webpage.
