Cross-lingual e-commerce

A computer-implemented method for cross-lingual e-commerce, the method comprising:

• translating a search query in a first natural language into a plurality of search queries corresponding to a plurality of natural languages;
• outputting the search query to an electronic commerce website which communicates via the first natural language, and the plurality of search queries to a plurality of electronic commerce websites which communicates via the corresponding plurality of natural languages;
• receiving a first search result in the first natural language from the electronic commerce website, and a plurality of search results in the corresponding plurality of natural languages from the corresponding plurality of electronic commerce websites;
• translating the plurality of search results into the first language;
• and
• outputting combined search results based on the first search result and a plurality of translated search results.

A computer program product, comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium having a computer-readable program code embodied therein to be executed by one or more processors, the program code including instructions to:

• translate a search query in a first natural language into a plurality of search queries corresponding to a plurality of natural languages;
• output the search query to an electronic commerce website which communicates via the first natural language, and the plurality of search queries to a plurality of electronic commerce websites which communicates via the corresponding plurality of natural languages;
• receive a first search result in the first natural language from the electronic commerce website, and a plurality of search results in the corresponding plurality of natural languages from the corresponding plurality of electronic commerce websites;
• translate the plurality of search results into the first language;
• and
• output combined search results based on the first search result and a plurality of translated search results.
