Abstract
A method for logging a formation or sample includes obtaining a plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements from the formation or sample. A horizontal resistivity measurement, a dip measurement and a dip azimuth measurement are derived from the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements. A sharp vertical resistivity measurement is derived from a subset of the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements.

A method for logging a formation or sample comprising:
- obtaining a plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements from the formation or sample;
- in a processor, deriving, from the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements, a horizontal resistivity measurement, a dip measurement, and an azimuth measurement;
- and
- in a processor, deriving, from a subset of the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements, a sharp vertical resistivity measurement.

A system for logging a formation or sample comprising:
- a logging tool for obtaining a plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements from the formation or sample;
- and
- one or more processors for deriving a sharp vertical resistivity measurement based on a subset of the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements.
The system of claim 14, wherein the one or more processors further function to derive from the plurality of multiaxial conductivity measurements, a horizontal resistivity measurement, a dip measurement, and an azimuth measurement.
