Abstract
A wearable, multiphasic cardioverter defibrillator system and method are provided.
Claims21
A wearable automated external defibrillator, comprising:
- two or more defibrillation modules that are wearable on one of a body and a limb of a patient;
- each defibrillation module having a defibrillation subsystem, the two or more defibrillation modules capable of generating a multiphasic therapeutic pulse;
- two or more patient interface assemblies that are wearable on one of a body and a limb of a patient;
- each patient interface assembly making contact with a piece of skin of the patient;
- and
- wherein the two or more defibrillation modules are capable of delivering the multiphasic therapeutic pulse to the patient through the patient interface assemblies connected to each defibrillation module.

A defibrillation method, comprising:
- providing two or more defibrillation modules that are wearable on one of a body and a limb of a patient wherein each defibrillation module has a defibrillation subsystem and is connected to at least one patient interface assembly that makes contact with a piece of skin of the patient;
- generating, by the two or more defibrillation modules, a multiphasic therapeutic pulse;
- and
- delivering the multiphasic therapeutic pulse to the patient through the patient interface assemblies connected to each defibrillation module.
