Abstract
The present invention provides, in one aspect, a method for producing Apolipoprotein in a plant comprising incubating or growing a plant comprising a nucleic acid construct comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a nucleic acid sequence encoding an Apolipoprotein fusion protein that comprises a fusion protein partner that induces the formation of a protein body in a plant, preferably, wherein the nucleic acid construct is introduced or infiltrated into the plant prior to the incubating or growing step.

A method for producing Apolipoprotein in a plant comprising incubating or growing a plant comprising a nucleic acid construct comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding an Apolipoprotein fusion protein that comprises a fusion protein partner that induces the formation of a protein body in a plant.
A nucleic acid construct comprising:
- a first nucleic acid sequence encoding a prolamin protein that induces the formation of a protein body in a plant;
- optionally a second nucleic acid sequence encoding a spacer, preferably, a cleavage recognition site;
- and
- a third nucleic acid sequence encoding Apolipoprotein,
- wherein said first, second and third nucleic acid sequences are operably linked to each other.
A fusion protein comprising:
- (i) an amino acid sequence encoding a prolamin protein that induces the formation of a protein body in a plant, optionally, wherein said amino acid sequence further comprises an amino acid sequence encoding one or more non-naturally occurring repeat sequence motifs;
- (ii) optionally an amino acid sequence encoding a linker in which a peptide bond therein can be specifically cleaved;
- and
- (iii) an amino acid sequence encoding Apolipoprotein.
