Abstract
A prebiotic formulation for oral administration to a human comprising 2′-fucosyllactose, 3′-sialyllactose and 6′-sialyllactose, and a method for modulating or stimulating the growth of Bifidobacteria in the gut. The formulation may be an infant formula.

A prebiotic formulation for oral administration to a human comprising 2′-fucosyllactose, 3′-sialyllactose and 6′-sialyllactose, wherein the amount by weight of the 3′-sialyllactose is equal to or greater than the amount of the 2′-fucosyllactose.
A method for modulating or stimulating the growth of Bifidobacteria in the human intestines comprising orally administering to a human a prebiotic formulation comprising 2′-fucosyllactose, 3′-sialyllactose and 6′-sialyllactose, wherein the amount by weight of the 3′-sialyllactose is equal to or greater than the amount of the 2′-fucosyllactose.
