Abstract
The present invention relates to methods and compositions for increasing production of methyl ketones in a genetically modified host cell that overproduces β-ketoacyl-CoAs through a re-engineered β-oxidation pathway and overexpresses FadM.
Claims15
A genetically modified bacterial host cell that produces methyl ketones, wherein the genetically modified bacterial host cell is transformed with a nucleic acid construct encoding a FadM that is capable of converting a β-ketoacyl-CoA to a β-keto acid, wherein the genetically modified host overproduces β-ketoacyl-CoAs.
