Abstract
The invention relates to a method for detection of a methicillin resistant coagulase positive Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strain by means of a sequence specific amplification reaction.
Claims22
Method for detection of a methicillin resistant coagulase positive Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strain, said MRSA strain comprising a chromosomal Staphylococcus mec (SSCmec) cassette, the method comprising
- performing a sequence specific amplification reaction with one or more first forward primer(s), wherein a 5′ end of the one or more first forward primer(s) hybridizes to a target DNA sequence within the SSCmec cassette and a 3′ end of the one or more first forward primer(s) hybridizes in an adjacent chromosomal DNA,
- wherein a melting temperature (Tm) of the one or more first forward primer(s) is between 55° and 65° C.
Isolated synthetic oligonucleotide comprising a sequence according to SEQ ID Nr. 1, 2, or 3.
