Abstract
A method for producing coated active materials includes aqueously coating surfaces of the active materials and subsequently carbonizing the coated particles. A core, a battery and a method for using the materials for batteries are also provided.
Claims18
A method for producing coated active materials, the method comprising the following steps:
- aqueously coating surfaces of the active materials to form coated particles;
- and
- subsequently carbonizing the coated particles.
A core, comprising:
- a material selected from the group consisting of carbon, compounds or mixtures of carbon and metals, compounds or mixtures of carbon and metal oxides, and particles of lithium salts or lithium oxides;
- and
- multiple layers of polyelectrolytes coating said material;
- said material coated with said multiple layers of polyelectrolytes being carbonized.
