Abstract
The present invention provides a water-insoluble coloring compound having excellent light resistance, an ink containing the coloring compound, a thermal transfer recording sheet including a coloring material layer formed on a base material from the ink, and a color filter resist composition containing the ink.

A water-insoluble coloring compound having a structure represented by Formula (1):
- in Formula (1), R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group;
- R3 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, or an amino group;
- R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a cyano group, a carbamoyl group, a carboxylic acid ester group, or a carboxylic acid amide group;
- R5 and R6 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an acyl group or R5 and R6 bind to each other to form a ring;
- and A represents a carbonyl group.
