The present invention relates generally to methods, compounds and compositions for treatment of adhesions, such as surgical adhesions.

A method of treating or inhibiting adhesion formation or reformation in a subject, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of an histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor.

A method comprising contacting a subject with an HDAC inhibitor during surgery, wherein said contacting is performed by way of an intraperitoneal injection, thereby treating adhesion in the subject.
