Abstract
In an embodiment of the disclosed technology, a bag is used for transporting and organizing items. The bag is generally formed of a removably attachable upper and a lower portion. The upper portion forms at least a portion of one side of the bag and is attached to the lower portion by a fastening mechanism. The lower portion forms the bottom and at least a portion of the sides of the bag. The upper portion is detachable to provide a hanging accessory organizer, having pockets and suspension device. In embodiments of the disclosed technology, access to the bag may be provided by an additional fastenable opening. Zippers may be used as the fasteners, and may run parallel to one another, completely or partially surrounding the perimeter of the upper portion.
Claims20
A bag, comprising:
- a unitary bottom, left, right, and back side defining an interior and an exterior of said bag;
- a removably attached flexible top and front side further defining said interior and said exterior of said bag, and being removable such that when completely detached, the removably attached to and front side are completely disconnected from said bag;
- wherein said removably attached flexible top and front side has an attachment mechanism extending around an entire perimeter thereof forming a contiguous unitary bag with said bottom, left, right and back side of said bag and said removably attached flexible top and front side by way of a single said attachment mechanism;
- and
- said removably attached flexible top and front side comprises at least one pocket enclosed and secured to said removably attached flexible top and front side on three sides.
A bag with a bottom, sides, and a top, the bag comprising:
- a lower portion forming the bottom and at least a portion of the sides of said bag;
- a fully detachable upper portion having at least one pocket, the upper portion forming at least a portion of at least one side and/or said top of said bag and completely removable from said lower portion by way of a zipper;
- a first fastener removably attaching said upper portion to said lower portion such that, when attached, said upper portion and said lower portion form a contiguous unitary length of fabric along either side of said first fastener along a length of said first fastener;
- and
- a second fastener closably fastening an opening into said bag such that said detachable upper portion doubles as an exterior flap for accessing an interior of said bag, said second fastener distinct from said first fastener.
A method of using a bag having a plurality sides, the sides being a top, a bottom, a front and a back, the method comprising the steps of:
- unfastening a fastener retaining an upper portion of said bag to a lower portion of said bag, said upper portion forming at least a portion of at least one side of said plurality of sides;
- removing said upper portion from said lower portion;
- and
- suspending said upper portion such that at least one pocket of said upper portion is accessible.
