Abstract
Examples are disclosed for executing vertical handovers of wireless devices configured to couple with heterogeneous wireless networks. In some examples, wireless devices on separate heterogeneous networks may be swapped between the heterogeneous networks.
Claims30
A method for vertical handovers, comprising:
- determining candidates, including a first wireless device and a second wireless device, for vertical handovers between wireless networks;
- executing a first vertical handover of the first wireless device and a second vertical handover of the second wireless device;
- and
- maintaining, with information associated with respective access nodes, a multiuser table including network information and user information of the wireless networks, and core information from a core network that is separately coupled to the wireless networks.
An apparatus configured for vertical handovers of wireless devices, comprising:
- a vertical handover manager configured to:
- determine candidates, including a first wireless device and a second wireless device, for vertical handovers between wireless networks;
- execute a first vertical handover of the first wireless device and a second vertical handover of the second wireless device;
- and
- maintain, with information associated with respective access nodes, a multiuser table including network information and user information of the wireless networks, and core information from a core network that is separately coupled to the wireless networks.
A system configured to execute vertical handovers of wireless devices, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a vertical handover manager, coupled to the memory, configured to:
- determine candidates, including a first wireless device and a second wireless device, for vertical handovers between wireless networks;
- execute a first vertical handover of the first wireless device and a second vertical handover of the second wireless device;
- and
- maintain, with information associated with respective access nodes, a multiuser table including network information and user information of the wireless networks, and core information from a core network that is separately coupled to the wireless networks.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions that, if executed, cause a computing component to perform operations comprising:
- determining candidates, including a first wireless device and a second wireless device, for vertical handovers between wireless networks;
- executing a first vertical handover of the first wireless device and a second vertical handover of the second wireless device;
- and
- maintaining, with information associated with respective access nodes, a multiuser table including network information and user information of the wireless networks, and core information from a core network that is separately coupled to the wireless networks.
