Liquid crystal display and method for manufacturing the same

A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display, comprising:

• forming a thin film transistor on a substrate including a display region and a non-display region,
• forming a pixel electrode on the thin film transistor,
• forming a sacrificial layer on the pixel electrode,
• forming a roof layer on the sacrificial layer,
• forming a microcavity in which a liquid crystal injection hole is formed by removing the sacrificial layer,
• injecting a liquid crystal material into the microcavity,
• applying a capping material on the display region and the non-display region so as to cover the roof layer and the liquid crystal injection hole, and
• forming a capping layer by patterning the capping material to remove the capping material applied on the non-display region.
