## Abstract

A joint lock comprises a lock body and a joint bar hoop, wherein the lock body accommodates a lock cylinder and a latch which is selectably movable by the lock cylinder from a locked position into a release position and wherein the joint bar hoop comprises a plurality of joint bars pivotally linked to one another, wherein a first end of the joint bar hoop has an elongate closing bar which can be introduced into an introduction opening of the lock body and which can be locked in the lock body by means of the latch. The joint lock is characterized in that the lock body furthermore accommodates a preloading device which preloads the latch into the locking position, with the latch being temporarily movable against the preloading from the locking position into the release position by introduction of the locking bar into the lock body, with the preloading device being adapted to move the latch back into the locking position again when the locking bar is completely introduced into the lock body.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A joint lock (10) having a lock body (12) and a joint bar hoop (14), wherein the lock body (12) accommodates a lock cylinder (40) and a latch (54), the latch being selectively movable by the lock cylinder (40) from a locking position into a release position, and wherein the joint bar hoop (14) comprises a plurality of joint bars (16) pivotally connected to one another, with a first end (24) of the joint bar hoop (14) having an elongate locking bar (18) which can be introduced into an introduction opening (34) of the lock body (12) and can be locked in the lock body (12) by means of the latch (54),
the lock body (12) further accommodating a preloading device (66) which preloads the latch (54) into the locking position, with the latch (54) being temporarily movable against the preload from the locking position into the release position by introduction of the locking bar (18) into the lock body (12), and with the preloading device (66) being adapted to move the latch (54) back into the locking position again when the locking bar (18) is completely introduced into the lock body (12).

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 1, wherein the lock body (18) has at a free end (24) a locking section (76) which is in operational engagement with the latch (54) in the locking position of the latch (54) to lock the locking bar (18) in the lock body (12).

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 2, wherein the locking section of the locking bar (18) is formed by an elevated securing portion (76).

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 1, wherein the preloading device (66) engages at the lock cylinder (40), on the one hand, and at the latch (54), on the other hand.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 1, wherein the latch is configured as a rotating latch (54) which is rotatably supported at a jacket surface (55) of the lock cylinder (40).

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 5, wherein the axis of rotation of the rotating latch (54) coincides with an axis of rotation of the lock cylinder (40) or extends in parallel herewith.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 5, wherein the rotating latch (54) comprises a jacket surface (69) having a cut-out (70), with the cut-out (70) releasing a movement path of the locking bar (18) in the release position of the rotating latch (54).

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 7, wherein the cut-out (70) extends along the jacket surface (69) of the rotating latch (54) in a tangential direction with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotating latch (54).

### Claim 9 (depends on 5)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 5, wherein the lock cylinder (40) has a cylinder housing (52) and a cylinder core (50), the cylinder core being rotatably supported in the cylinder housing and being drive-operationally coupled to the rotating latch (54), but with rotational clearance.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 9, wherein the cylinder core (50) has a drive prolongation (42) whose cross-section is formed partly by a segment of a circle and partly by an abutment edge (46), with the drive prolongation (42) engaging into a coupling opening (60) of the rotating latch (54) and with the cross-section of the coupling opening (60) being formed partly by a segment of a circle, partly by a first abutment edge (62) and partly by a second abutment edge (64) which is adjacent to the first abutment edge (62) and includes an angle therewith.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 9, wherein the lock body (12) has an abutment (48) which bounds a rotational movement of at least one of the cylinder core (50) and the rotating latch (54).

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The joint lock (10) in accordance with claim 1, wherein the locking bar (18) can be introduced along its longitudinal axis into the introduction opening (34) of the lock body (12), wherein an axis of rotation of the lock cylinder (40) is aligned perpendicular to a plane which is spanned by the longitudinal axis of the locking bar (18) and the joint axis of the locking bar (18) when the locking bar (18) is introduced into the lock body (12).
