Service usage reporting data transport

A reception apparatus, comprising:

• circuitry configured to
• receive audio/video content and closed caption service data, including service usage reporting data within a predetermined service;
• parse the service usage reporting data within the predetermined service;
• and
• provide service-usage information to a service-usage reporting server (SURS) based on the service usage reporting data.

A method for processing service usage reporting data, the method comprising:

• receiving, by circuitry of a reception apparatus, audio/video content and closed caption service data, including the service usage reporting data within a predetermined service;
• parsing, by the circuitry of the reception apparatus, the service usage reporting data within the predetermined service;
• and
• providing, by the circuitry of the reception apparatus, service-usage information to a service-usage reporting server (SURS) based on the service usage reporting data.

An information providing apparatus, comprising:

• circuitry configured to
• generate or receive closed caption service data associated with audio/video content;
• and
• provide the audio/video content and the closed caption service data to a reception apparatus, the closed caption service data including service usage reporting data within a predetermined service, wherein
• service-usage information is provided to a service-usage reporting server (SURS) based on the service usage reporting data.
