System and method for a home multimedia container

A computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon, computer executable instructions that, if executed by a computer system cause the computer system to perform a method for displaying a portion of a graphical user interface, said method comprising:

• accessing, within mobile device, a portion of an operating system corresponding to said mobile device;
• accessing a datastore corresponding to a home multimedia container, wherein said home multimedia container comprises a first object and a second object, wherein said first object is a first portion of content and said second object is a multimedia container, and wherein said datastore comprises information about said first object and said second object, and wherein said multimedia container comprises a plurality of objects;
• determining a first image based on said information about said first object;
• determining a second image based on said plurality of objects of said multimedia container;
• and
• displaying said first image and said second image.

An system operable to display a graphical user interface, said system comprising:

• an operating system comprising:
• a datastore access module operable to access a datastore corresponding to a home multimedia container comprising a plurality of objects, wherein a first object of said plurality of objects is operable to be a piece of content;
• an image determination module operable to generate a plurality of respective images each corresponding to respective object of said plurality of objects of said home multimedia container;
• and
• a display module operable to display each respective image of said plurality of respective images, wherein said display module is operable to display a portion of content adjacent to an application icon.
