Abstract
A mobile application engine includes an adapter, translation server and mobile renderer for providing forms as native mobile applications on a mobile device.
Claims16
A method for generating native mobile applications, the method comprising:
- installing a first renderer on a first mobile device having a first operating system and a second renderer on a second mobile device having a second operating system;
- accessing a form defined by elements including at least one of a form layout, rules, expressions, validations, events, actions, authentication and data bindings;
- providing a translation server having interfaces;
- providing an adapter that maps the elements to the interfaces;
- translating the mapped elements via the interfaces into a payload, the payload including declarative data;
- sending the payload to the first mobile device and the second mobile device;
- and
- generating, based upon the payload,
- a first native mobile application on the first mobile device via the first renderer, the first native mobile application utilizing first native controls of the first mobile device, and
- a second native mobile application on the second mobile device via the second renderer, the second native mobile application utilizing second native controls of the second mobile device.
A method for generating native mobile applications, the method comprising:
- installing a renderer on a mobile device having an operating system;
- accessing a form defined by elements including at least one of a form layout, rules, expressions, validations, events, actions, authentication and data bindings;
- providing a translation server having interfaces;
- providing an adapter that maps the elements to the interfaces;
- translating the mapped elements via the interfaces into a payload, the payload including declarative data;
- sending the payload to the mobile device;
- and
- generating, based upon the payload, a native mobile application on the mobile device via the renderer, the native mobile application utilizing native controls of the mobile device.
A mobile application system comprising:
- a mobile device including a renderer and an operating system;
- a translation server including interfaces;
- a form server including a form defined by elements;
- and
- an adapter including a mapper that maps the elements to the interfaces;
- wherein the translation server translates the mapped elements via the interfaces into a payload, the payload including declarative data, and wherein the mobile device generates a native mobile application via the renderer, the native mobile application utilizing native controls of the mobile device.
A mobile device running an operating system, the mobile device comprising a render that generates a native mobile application utilizing native controls of the mobile device based upon a payload generated by a translation server.
A translation server including interfaces, the translation server comprising a computer readable medium that stores instructions causing the translation server to map form elements into a payload including declarative data.
An adapter including a mapper, the adapter comprising a computer readable medium that stores instructions causing the adapter to:
- access a form defined by elements including at least one of a form layout, rules, expressions, validations, events, actions, authentication and data bindings;
- and
- map the elements to predefined interfaces for a translation server.
