- H04L 63/061: {for key exchange, e.g. in peer-to-peer networks (cryptographic mechanisms or cryptographic arrangements for key agreement H04L9/0838)}
- H04L 63/123: {received data contents, e.g. message integrity}
- H04L: TRANSMISSION OF DIGITAL INFORMATION, e.g. TELEGRAPHIC COMMUNICATION (arrangements common to telegraphic and telephonic communication H04M)

## Abstract

A method for users of devices including mobile phones and computers to engage in encrypted communications with other devices using asymmetrical key exchange technology, involving the user of a device first creating a password and then at a later time re-entering that password on the device, with the result that when the password is re-entered the device is able to decrypt a set of software components that are required for a fresh session of encrypted communications.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for securing a signal passing between a communication device and a server, comprising a step of: including, on at least two occasions, a password associated with the communication device in the signal, where the signal has been encrypted using asymmetric key encryption.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising a step of: including a location identifier for the communication device in the signal, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method as recited in claim 2, further comprising a step of: including a device identifier for the communication device in the signal, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method as recited in claim 3, further comprising a step of: including a server identifier for the server in the signal, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method as recited in claim 4, further comprising a step of: including a connection identifier, associated with a connection between the server and the communication device, in the signal, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The method as recited in claim 5, further comprising a step of: including a session identifier, associated with a session occurring between the server and the communication device, in the signal, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method as recited in claim 6, further comprising a step of: randomizing the communication device's display screen for purposes of entry of the password, in order to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 8

A computer system further comprising:
a server;
means for storing data used by the server;
means for asymmetrically encrypting a signal that passes between the server and a communication device connected to the server;
means for authenticating the signal using a password that has been passed to the server from the communication device on at least two occasions.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The system as recited in claim 8, wherein the means for storing data contains a location identifier for the communication device, wherein the location identifier is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The system as recited in claim 9, wherein the means for storing data contains a device identifier for the communication device, where the device identifier is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The system as recited in claim 10, wherein the means for storing data contains a server identifier for the server, where the server identifier is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The system as recited in claim 11, wherein the means for storing data contains a connection identifier associated with a connection between the server and the communication device, where the connection identifier is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The system recited in claim 12, where the means for storing data contains a session identifier associated with a session occurring between the server and the communication device, where the session identifier is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The system as recited in claim 13, wherein the communication device contains means for randomizing the device's display screen for purposes of entry of the password, where the password is used to authenticate the signal.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The system as recited in claim 14, further comprising means for biometrically authenticating the signal.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The system as recited in claim 15, further comprising means for terminating communication between the communication device and the server if the signal is not authenticated.

### Claim 17

A computer system further comprising:
means for determining location of a communication device connected to the system;
wherein the system is secured using asymmetric key encryption.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The computer system as recited in claim 17, further comprising:
means for securing the system using a device identifier for the communication device.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

The computer system as recited in claim 18, further comprising:
means for randomizing the communication device's display screen for purposes of entering a password into the communication device, in order to secure the computer system.

### Claim 20

A computer system further comprising means for randomizing the system's password entry display in such a way as to secure the system.
