Abstract
Among other things, information is received from a user interacting with a user interface about a trip that is being planned from an origin to a destination, the information including a user indication of travel modes to be considered in planning the trip and the possible travel modes including at least three of bus, train, car, water, and air. Two or more alternative travel options are determined each including two or more of the modes based on the received information; and the options are presented to the user through the user interface.

A method comprising
- by computer calculating the cost of a travel itinerary of a user from an origination location to a destination location,
- taking account in the calculation of a discount or promotion that is available to the user to be applied against the cost of at least one part of the travel itinerary, and
- providing the calculated cost of the itinerary to the user through an online user interface.
A method comprising
- by computer calculating a cost of a travel itinerary of a user from an origination location to a destination location, the travel itinerary having a portion that is priceable and a portion that is not priceable, the cost being calculated by pricing as much of the itinerary as possible.
