Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods that relate to pulse oximetry. Specifically, one embodiment includes an oximeter sensor comprising a light emitting element configured to emit light, a light detector configured to detect the light, and a memory chip having a built-in trimmed resistor, the trimmed resistor having a resistance value that is detectable by a monitor.
Claims8
A device wearable by a patient, comprising:
- a disposable connection component comprising at least two electrodes configured to generate an impedance measurement, the at least two electrodes configured to attach to the patient via an adhesive;
- a nondisposable component configured to be removably coupled to the disposable connection component comprising:
- a battery;
- an accelerometer configured to collect data indicative of a presence of patient motion;
- a memory configured to store:
- a plurality of physiological characteristics indicative of a status of the patient in a digital format, the plurality of physiological characteristics comprising at least data indicative of one or more of an electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform, data indicative of heart rate, the data indicative of a presence of patient motion, or any combination thereof;
- and
- at least one indication of one or more events;
- an interface configured to transmit at least one of the plurality of physiological characteristics to a remote device;
- and
- a light indicator configured to provide a light signal indicative of an operating status of the device.
