Abstract
A method of decreasing intraocular pressure (IOP) in an eye of a patient in need thereof includes implanting a first lacrimal implant through a firsts punctum and into a first lacrimal canaliculus of the eye of the patient. The method may further comprise implanting a second lacrimal implant through a second punctum and into a second lacrimal canaliculus of the eye of the patient, and releasing, on a sustained basis a therapeutically effective amount of an intraocular pressure-reducing therapeutic agent.

A method for reducing intraocular pressure in an eye of a patient in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the eye of the patient having a baseline elevated intraocular pressure of greater than about 21 mmHg, a latanoprost sustained release formulation comprising greater than about 95 ug of latanoprost;
- and,
- releasing the latanoprost sustained release formulation for at least 4 weeks, wherein the mean intraocular pressure of the eye is reduced by at least 6 mmHg at week 1.
A method for reducing intraocular pressure in an eye of a patient in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the eye of the patient having a baseline elevated intraocular pressure of greater than about 21 mmHg, a latanoprost sustained release formulation comprising greater than about 95 ug of latanoprost;
- and,
- releasing the latanoprost sustained release formulation for treatment period of at least 4 weeks, wherein the mean intraocular pressure of the eye is reduced by at least 5 mmHg during the treatment period.
A method for reducing intraocular pressure in an eye of a patient in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the eye of the patient having a baseline elevated intraocular pressure of greater than about 21 mmHg, a latanoprost sustained release formulation;
- and,
- releasing the latanoprost sustained release formulation for treatment period of at least 4 weeks, wherein the mean intraocular pressure of the eye is reduced by at least 5 mmHg during the treatment period and the mean intraocular pressure is calculated with an n of at least 50.
