Abstract
An approach is provided for providing a collaborative reply to a flooding message over an ad-hoc mesh network. A reply message to a flooding message is received by a wireless node within the ad-hoc network. The wireless node monitors for an acknowledgement of receipt of the reply message according to a routing table and initiates a scheduled transmission of the reply message based on the monitoring.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- exchanging via a processor an event identification code between wireless nodes over an ad-hoc mesh network via a flooding message while attending an event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code;
- and
- establishing via the processor whether a user was at the event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code by comparison of the exchanged event identification code with an event identification code store in a wireless device of the user.
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory including computer program code for one or more programs,
- the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least the following:
- exchange an event identification code between wireless nodes over an ad-hoc mesh network via a flooding message while attending an event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code;
- and
- establish whether a user was at the event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code by comparison of the exchanged event identification code with an event identification code store in a wireless device of the user.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium carrying one or more sequences of one or more instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause an apparatus to at least perform:
- exchange an event identification code between wireless nodes over an ad-hoc mesh network via a flooding message while attending an event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code;
- and
- establish whether a user was at the event corresponding to the exchanged event identification code by comparison of the exchanged event identification code with an event identification code store in a wireless device of the user.
