Abstract
A coaxial cable connector is attachable to a coaxial cable. The connector, in one embodiment, includes a connector body, a coupler and a slider. The slider is configured to cause compression of the connector body.
Claims20
A coaxial cable connector comprising:
- a connector body extending along an axis, the connector body comprising a forward end and a rearward end, the rearward end configured to receive a portion of a coaxial cable, the forward end comprising a forward end diameter, the rearward end comprising a rearward end diameter, the rearward end diameter being greater than the forward end diameter;
- a post that is at least partially received by the connector body;
- a coupler rotatably coupled to the post;
- and
- a slider that receives the connector body, the slider being positioned rearward of the coupler and between the forward and rearward ends of the connector body, the slider comprising an inner diameter that is less than the rearward end diameter, the slider configured to be slid from a first position along the axis to a second position along the axis, wherein the portion of the coaxial cable is compressed between the connector body and the post as a result of the slider being slid from the first position to the second position.

A coaxial cable connector comprising:
- a connector body extending along an axis, the connector body comprising:
- a forward end;
- a rearward end configured to receive a portion of a coaxial cable;
- a forward portion extending from the forward end, the forward portion comprising a forward outer diameter;
- and
- a rearward portion extending from the forward portion to the rearward end, the rearward portion comprising a rearward outer diameter that is greater than the forward outer diameter;
- a post that is at least partially received by the connector body;
- a nut rotatably coupled to the post;
- and
- a slider that receives the connector body, the slider being positioned rearward of the nut and between the forward and rearward ends of the connector body, the slider comprising an inner diameter that is less than the rearward outer diameter, the slider being configured to be slid from a first position at the forward portion to a second position at the rearward portion, wherein the slider is configured to compress the rearward portion when slid from the first to the second position.

- a post that is at least partially received by the connector body, the post comprising a flange;
- a nut rotatably coupled to the post, the nut defining a cavity that at least partially receives the flange of the post;
- and
- a slider that receives the connector body, the slider being positioned rearward of the nut and between the forward and rearward ends of the connector body, the slider comprising an inner diameter that is less than the rearward outer diameter, the slider being configured to be slid in a rearward direction from a first position wherein the slider encircles the forward portion to a second position wherein the slider encircles the rearward portion, wherein the slider is configured to compress the rearward portion as a result of being slid from the first position to the second position.
