A scleral lens solution comprising an aqueous mixture that includes sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium cations and a pH in a range from about 6.5 to about 8.7.

A scleral lens solution, comprising:
- an aqueous mixture that includes sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium cations and a pH in a range from about 6.5 to about 8.7.
A method of preparing a scleral lens solution, comprising:
- providing a volume of liquid water;
- and
- adding sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium cations to the volume of water to form a solution and adjusting the pH of the solution in a range from about 6.5 to about 8.7.
A method using a scleral lens solution, comprising:
- providing a scleral lens solution that comprises an aqueous mixture including sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium cations and a pH in a range from about 6.5 to about 8.7;
- and
- contacting a scleral lens with the scleral lens solution.
