A sprayable alcohol-based sunscreen comprises an alcohol carrier, at least one sunscreen additive, and a film forming polymer comprising shellac.

A sprayable alcohol-based topical pharmaceutical composition comprising an alcohol carrier, at least one pharmaceutical agent, and a film forming polymer capable of forming a protective coating on the skin to which the composition is applied, the film forming polymer comprising shellac.
A product comprising a container, a sprayable alcohol-based topical pharmaceutical composition in the container, and a spray device for applying the composition in the container to a surface by spraying, wherein the sprayable alcohol-based topical pharmaceutical composition comprises the composition of claim 11.
