Abstract
A cable actuator includes a housing and a cam disposed in the housing. The cam includes a first cable retaining portion and a second cable retaining portion. The cam is movable between a first position in which the first cable retaining portion is in an actuated position and the second cable retaining portion is in a return position, and a second position in which the first cable retaining portion is in a return position and the second cable retaining portion is in an actuated position.
Claims24
A cable actuator comprising:
- a housing;
- and
- a cam disposed in the housing and including a first cable retaining portion and a second cable retaining portion, the cam being movable between a first position in which the first cable retaining portion is in an actuated position and the second cable retaining portion is in a return position, and a second position in which the first cable retaining portion is in a return position and the second cable retaining portion is in an actuated position;
- wherein the cam comprises a cam body defining a first track receiving a first projection connected with the first cable retaining portion and a second track receiving a second projection connected with the second cable retaining portion, wherein the first track is contoured to move the first cable retaining portion to the actuated position when the cam is moved to the first position, and the second track is contoured to move the second cable retaining portion to the actuated position when the cam is moved to the second position.

An apparatus comprising:
- a first device operable between an actuated condition and a return condition;
- a second device operable between an actuated condition and a return condition;
- and
- a cable actuating system comprising:
- a housing;
- a first cable having a first end positioned within the housing and a second end connected with the first device;
- a second cable having a first end positioned within the housing and a second end connected with the second device;
- and
- a cam disposed in the housing and operably connected with the first and second cables, the cam being movable to a first position to apply a first actuating force to the first cable to move the first device to the actuated condition, and to a second position to apply a second actuating force to the second cable to move the second device to the actuated condition, with the first cable being free of the first actuating force when the cam is in the second position to maintain the first device in the return condition.

A standing frame including:
- a base;
- a footrest portion pivotably connected with the base for pivoting movement of the footrest portion with respect to the base, the footrest portion including a striker latch operable between a latching condition for automatically latching the footrest portion when the footrest portion is moved to an upright position, and a releasing condition for permitting movement of the footrest portion out of the upright position;
- a seat portion connected with the base by first and second pivoting sliders for sliding and pivoting articulation of the seat bracket with respect to the base, the first and second pivoting sliders including corresponding first and second slider locks operable between a locked condition for securing the first and second sliders against sliding movement, and an unlocked condition for permit sliding movement of the first and second sliders;
- and
- an actuator operatively connected with the striker latch and with the first and second slider locks, the actuator being operable between:
- a first position placing the striker latch is in the latching condition and the first and second slider locks in the unlocked condition;
- a second position placing the striker latch is in the releasing condition and the first and second slider locks in the locked condition;
- and
- a third position placing the striker latch in the releasing condition and the first and second slider locks in the unlocked condition.
