Abstract
An Internet telephony system (ITS) comprising an enclosure, an interface to a packet switched computer network; a communications processor, configured to implement a voice over Internet Protocol communication, to execute at least a client portion of a telephony control application supporting at least a coordinated delivery of data presented to the user through a user interface and a conversation using the voice over Internet Protocol communication; and to execute a web browser; and at least one manual control input.

A computer system, comprising:
- a processor;
- a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that are executable by the processor to cause the computer system to perform operations comprising:
- detecting a purchase status associated with a user, wherein the purchase status is indicative of a navigation of a link associated with an item displayed on a webpage;
- in response to detecting the purchase status, initiating, via a communication channel, a communication with the user through a user interface that corresponds to the webpage.

- detecting, through a network, by a computer device, information indicating that a user has changed a status associated with an item displayed on a web page;
- based on the information indicating that the status associated with the item has been changed, the computer device causing a particular type of communication to be initiated with the user.

A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a computer system to cause the computer system to perform operations comprising:
- determining that a user has placed an item in a purchase depository associated with a web site;
- receiving, from an application displaying the web site at a client device, information indicative of a preferred communication channel that corresponds to the user;
- and
- based on determining that the user has placed the item in the purchase depository, causing to be transmitted to the user a request for communication via the preferred communication channel.
