Abstract
A method of and apparatus for communicating between a host and an agent. The method includes the step of performing a first transaction between a host controller and a hub. The hub is operable to perform a single transaction with an agent based on the first transaction. The method then includes the step of performing a second transaction between the host controller and the hub. The second transaction is based on the single transaction.
Claims8
A video display device, comprising:
- a display;
- a port to connect to a bus of a host device;
- and
- a bus controller to perform a split transaction between a hub controller coupled to a host controller and to the video display device, said hub controller to perform a split transaction with the host controller to effect a transfer of data between the host controller and the video display device;
- wherein the hub controller is to perform a first transaction of the split transaction and a second transaction of the split transaction with the host controller, said second transaction being different than said first transaction;
- wherein the hub controller is to perform an agent transaction with the video display device based on the first transaction;
- wherein the second transaction is based on the agent transaction.
