Dynamic Service Extension Infrastructure For Cloud Platforms

A computer system, comprising:

• a processor;
• a memory in communication with processor, the memory comprising:
• an application server running on a cloud platform;
• a dynamic service extension infrastructure (DSEI) as part of the application server, wherein the DSEI provides modules for creating an extension application of type service;
• a service registry in the DSEI, wherein the extension application is registered as a service;
• and
• a resource file storage unit that stores a plurality of resource files of the extension application.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions, which when executed cause a computer system to:

• create an extension application of type service for a cloud application running on an application server of a cloud platform;
• register the extension application as a service in a service registry of a dynamic service extension infrastructure (DSEI) as part of the cloud platform;
• store a plurality of resource files of the extension application in a storage module of the DSEI;
• and
• store a persistency datamodel of the extension application in a persistency storage unit, wherein the datamodel includes at least one application entity and at least one application entity field for the application entity.
