Abstract
A mechanism for managing data in relational database management systems (RDBMS). The method includes receiving a structured query language (SQL) query to be executed on a relational database management system (RDBMS). The RDBMS includes a schema of tables divided into a plurality of partitions and the SQL query includes an operation of data to be executed on the RDBMS. The method also includes determining whether the SQL query is a valid SQLT query. The SQL query is a valid SQLT query when the SQL query includes a join operation applied to data from tables in a same partition of the plurality of partitions.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device, a structured query language (SQL) query to be executed on a relational database management system (RDBMS), wherein the RDBMS comprises a schema of tables divided into a plurality of partitions and the SQL query comprises an operation of data to be executed on the RDBMS;
- and
- determining, by the processing device, whether the SQL query is a valid SQLT query, wherein the SQL query is the valid SQLT query when the SQL query comprises a join operation applied to data from tables in a same partition of the plurality of partitions.
A system comprising:
- a processing device;
- a memory coupled to the processing device;
- and
- a structured query language (SQL) transposition module executable from the memory by the processing device, the SQL transposition module to:
- receive a structured query language (SQL) query to be executed on a relational database management system (RDBMS), wherein the RDBMS comprises a schema of tables divided into a plurality of partitions and the SQL comprises an operation of data to be executed on the RDBMS;
- determine whether the SQL query is a valid SQLT query, wherein the SQL query is the valid SQLT query when the when the SQL query comprises a join operation applied to data from tables in a same partition of the plurality of partitions;
- and
- execute the SQL query on the RDBMS when it is determined that the SQL query is the valid SQLT query.
A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium including data, when accessed by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device, a structured query language (SQL) query to be executed on a relational database management system (RDBMS), wherein the RDBMS comprises a schema of tables divided into a plurality of partitions and the SQL query comprises an operation of data to be executed on the RDBMS;
- and
- determining, by the processing device, whether the SQL query is a valid SQLT query, wherein the SQL query is a valid SQLT query when the SQL query comprises a join operation applied to data from tables in a same partition of the plurality of partitions;
- and
- executing the SQL query on the RDBMS when it is determined that the SQL query is the valid SQLT query.
