Abstract
An SQL query-to-procedure translation system may be used in connection with a relational database management system (RDBMS) that is augmented by a cache and a cache management system that manages the cache. The query-to-procedure translation system may include a data processing system that has at least one computer hardware processor and a configuration that, in response to a query issued by an application program for data from the relational database management system: intercepts the query; generates code that determines if data requested by the query that may be in the cache has changed; and registers the code as a procedure with the RDBMS.
Claims20
An SQL query-to-procedure translation system for use in connection with a relational database management system (RDBMS) that is augmented by a cache and a cache management system that manages the cache, the query-to-procedure translation system comprising a data processing system that has at least one computer hardware processor and a configuration that, in response to a query issued by an application program for data from the relational database management system:
- intercepts the query;
- generates code that determines if data requested by the query that may be in the cache has changed;
- and
- registers the code as a procedure with the RDBMS.
A non-transitory, tangible, computer-readable storage medium containing a program of instructions that causes a computer system running the program of instructions to:
- intercept a query issued by an application program for data from a relational database management system (RDBMS) that is augmented by a cache and a cache management system that manages the cache;
- and
- in response to the query:
- generates code that determines if data requested by the query that may be in the cache has changed;
- and
- registers the code as a procedure with the RDBMS.
