Abstract
Embodiments of the disclosure include systems, methods, and devices for processing payments for a card. Such embodiments include receiving payment information from a payor at an intermediate entity server as well as authorizing the payment transaction, by the intermediate entity server, based on the payment information. Further such embodiments include providing instructions, by the intermediate entity, to debit a payor card account and credit payee shadow ledger account based on the payment information as well as providing instructions, by the intermediate entity, to debit the payee shadow ledger account and to credit the payee card account based on payment rules.
Claims25
A method for processing a payment transaction, comprising:
- receiving payment information from a payor at a computer server;
- authorizing the payment transaction, by the computer server, based on the payment information;
- providing instructions, by the computer server, to debit a payor card account;
- providing instructions, by the computer server, to credit a payee shadow ledger account based on the payment information;
- providing instructions, by the computer server, to debit the payee shadow ledger account;
- providing instructions, by the computer server, to credit the payee card account based on payment rules.
A method of enabling a payee card account to receive payor payments, the method comprising:
- receiving, in one or more messages, instructions from an issuer at a computer server, to enable the payee card account to receive payor payments;
- generating, by the computer server, a payee shadow ledger account for the payee card account.
A system for processing a payment transaction, comprising:
- one or more servers each server having;
- one or more processors;
- one or more storage devices coupled to the one or more processors;
- one or more modules, implemented by the one or more processors, the one or modules:
- (i) receiving payment information from a payor at a computer server;
- (ii) authorizing the payment transaction, by the computer server, based on the payment information;
- (iii) providing instructions, by the computer server, to debit a payor card account;
- (iv) providing instructions, by the computer server, to credit a payee shadow ledger account based on the payment information;
- (v) providing instructions, by the computer server, to debit the payee shadow ledger account;
- (vi) providing instructions, by the computer server, to credit the payee card account based on payment rules.
