Abstract
A check image generator application generates a remote deposit capture RDC compatible check image. The RDC compatible check image is sent from a sender mobile device to a recipient mobile device. The RDC compatible check image may pass through a server and may be encrypted. The recipient mobile device receives the RDC compatible check image and forwards it to a financial institution for deposit.

A remote deposit system comprising:
- a server to store remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check images;
- and
- an application program to be executed by a mobile device separate from the server, wherein the application program includes instructions for:
- receiving a remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check image from the server;
- displaying a notification;
- responding to a user's interaction with the notification to display indicia of the RDC compatible check image other than the RDC compatible check image itself;
- and
- forwarding the RDC compatible check image to a financial institution for deposit.

- a server to store remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check images;

- a mobile device having a memory with a stored application program, wherein the stored application program includes instructions that when executed by the mobile device result in the mobile device:
- prompting a user to either take a picture of a check for remote deposit or to receive a remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check image for remote deposit;
- receiving the RDC compatible check image from the server;
- prompting the user to electronically endorse the RDC compatible check image;
- and
- forwarding the RDC compatible check image to a financial institution for deposit.
