Abstract
A check image generator application generates a remote deposit capture RDC compatible check image. The RDC compatible check image is sent from a sender mobile device to a recipient mobile device. The RDC compatible check image may pass through a server and may be encrypted. The recipient mobile device receives the RDC compatible check image and forwards it to a financial institution for deposit.
Claims20
A mobile device comprising:
- a processor;
- a memory;
- and
- a program, wherein the program is stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the processor, the program including instructions for:
- detecting whether the mobile device is in motion;
- if the mobile device is in motion, capturing a check image with a camera within the mobile device, and character recognizing check information in the check image;
- if the mobile device is not in motion, retrieving check information from the memory, and augmenting the check information with data entered by a payor;
- combining the check information with a nonscanned check image to create a remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check image;
- and
- transmitting the RDC compatible check image to a payee.
A mobile device implemented method comprising:
- detecting whether the mobile device is in motion;
- if the mobile device is in motion, capturing a check image with a camera within the mobile phone, and character recognizing static check information in the check image;
- if the mobile device is not in motion, retrieving the static check information from memory;
- prompting a payor to enter dynamic check information;
- creating a remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check image by combining a pre-prepared check image with the static check information and the dynamic check information;
- and
- transmitting the RDC compatible check image to a payor for later remote deposit.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by a mobile device, cause the mobile device to perform:
- detecting motion of the mobile device;
- and
- when motion is detected:
- capturing a photograph of a blank check;
- performing character recognition to extract static check data from the photograph of the blank check;
- prompting a payor for dynamic check information to fill out a check;
- combining the static check data and dynamic check data to create a remote deposit capture (RDC) compatible check image;
- and
- transmitting the RDC compatible check image to a payee.
