Bandwidth auctioning

A system comprising:

• a computer device configured to:
• obtain bandwidth use data associated with a network device;
• predict a trough period in bandwidth use for the network device based on the obtained bandwidth use data;
• generate an auction associated with a time period during the predicted trough period, wherein the auction offers use of the network device during the time period at a discounted price;
• receive a bid, from a customer, for use of the network device during the time period via the auction;
• and
• provision one or more services on the network device for the customer based on the received bid, wherein the one or more services are provided for a duration of the auctioned time period.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by one or more processors, the non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising:

• one or more instructions to obtain bandwidth use data associated with a network device;
• one or more instructions to predict a trough period in bandwidth use for the network device based on the obtained bandwidth use data;
• one or more instructions to generate an auction associated with a time period during the predicted trough period, wherein the auction offers use of the network device during the time period;
• one or more instructions to receive a bid, from a customer, for use of the network device during the time period via the auction;
• and
• one or more instructions to provision one or more services on the network device for the customer based on the received bid, wherein the one or more services are provided for a duration of the auctioned time period.
