Reclosable Wrapper for Sanitary Products and Related Methods

A wrapped sanitary product, comprising:

• a sanitary product having an insertion end and a withdrawal end;
• and
• a wrapper having an interior face that is disposed opposite to an exterior face, said interior face and said exterior face having a first end that is disposed opposite to a second end and a first side that is disposed opposite to a second side, wherein said wrapper forms an interior space defined by said interior face, the at least partial joining of said first side and said second side, the at least partial joining of said first end onto itself and the at least partial joining of said second end onto itself;
• wherein said wrapper has a port such that said interior space is at least partially accessible from outside of said wrapper, said port is sized, shaped and positioned to permit discreet removal of said sanitary product from within said wrapper, said wrapper having a flap that is sealable to said wrapper to provide a complete closure around said interior space;
• wherein said wrapped sanitary product has a storage configuration such that said sanitary product is contained within said interior space, wherein said flap is in a sealed position such that said interior space is not accessible by said port;
• wherein said wrapper has an accessible configuration such that said sanitary product can be removed from said interior space, wherein said flap is at least partially removed from said port such that said interior space is accessible;
• and
• wherein said wrapper has a second storage configuration such that said sanitary product has been removed from said interior space thereby leaving the interior space vacated, and wherein flap is at least partially resealable to said wrapper thereby resealing said interior space.

A method of using a wrapped sanitary product, comprising the steps of:

• storing a wrapped sanitary product comprising a wrapper and a sanitary product having an insertion end and a withdrawal, wherein said sanitary product is contained within an interior space of a wrapper, wherein said wrapper has a flap that is sealed to said wrapper thereby maintaining said sanitary product in a sanitary condition within said wrapper;
• opening said wrapped sanitary product by removing said flap such that said flap is no longer sealed to said wrapper, thereby revealing a port in said wrapper that permits access to said sanitary product;
• removing said sanitary product from said wrapper by grasping said withdrawal end of said sanitary product through said port in said wrapper;
• placing a soiled sanitary product through said port in said wrapper;
• and
• closing said flap over said port such that said soiled sanitary product is sealed within said wrapper.

A method of wrapping a sanitary product, comprising the steps of:

• providing a film for use as a wrapper;
• forming any or both of a perimeter of a port and a perimeter of a flap on said film by making a cut, a die cut, a laser cut, a line of weakness, scoring, laser scoring, slitting, punching or perforating said film;
• rolling said film over to form a tube-like shape;
• forming an at least partial longitudinal seal;
• inserting a sanitary product into said tube-like shape film such that a withdrawal end of said sanitary product is proximate to the port;
• forming an at least partial first end seal and an at least partial second end seal;
• wherein formation of said at least partial first end seal and formation of said at least partial second end seal can be done in any order;
• and
• applying a sticker to the film such that said sticker at least partially coincides with said port, said perimeter of said port, said flap, or said perimeter of said flap, and an area of an exterior face of said film that surrounds said port, or said flap, or both;
• wherein said step of applying said sticker to the film can be done after said step of forming any or both of said perimeter of said port and said flap and before said step of rolling said film over to form said tube-like shape;
• and
• wherein said step of forming said at least partial first end seal or said step of forming said at least partial second end seal can be done after said step of forming said at least partial longitudinal seal and before said step of inserting a sanitary product into said tube-like shape film.
