Abstract
An ablation system including an image database storing a plurality of computed tomography (CT) images of a luminal network and a navigation system enabling, in combination with an endoscope and the CT images, navigation of a locatable guide and an extended working channel to a point of interest. The system further includes one or more fiducial markers, placed in proximity to the point of interest and a percutaneous microwave ablation device for applying energy to the point of interest.
Claims30
An ablation system comprising:
- an image database including a plurality of computed tomography (CT) images of a luminal network;
- a navigation system enabling, in combination with an endoscope and the CT images, navigation of a locatable guide and an extended working channel to a point of interest;
- one or more fiducial markers, placed in proximity to the point of interest;
- and
- a percutaneous microwave ablation device for applying energy to the point of interest.
An ablation system, comprising:
- a microwave ablation device configured to be inserted into a patient percutaneously and having a radiating section and a proximal handle;
- a cooling system configured to provide cooling to the microwave ablation device during an ablation procedure;
- a temperature sensing system configured to sense a temperature of tissue proximate the radiating section of the microwave ablation device;
- an energy source configured to provide microwave energy to the microwave ablation device;
- and
- a navigation system configured to indicate to a user a location of an ablation target and a pathway to the target.
