Abstract
A system and method for monitoring the health of an animal using multiple sensors is described. The wearable device may include one or more sensors whose resultant signal levels may be analyzed in the wearable device or uploaded to a data management server for additional analysis.
Claims19
A wearable device for an animal comprising:
- a processor;
- an output;
- an accelerometer;
- a second sensor;
- and
- memory storing computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to:
- receive a signal from the accelerometer;
- determine if the signal received from the accelerometer exceeds a first predetermined threshold;
- and
- in response to determining the signal received from the accelerometer does exceed a first predetermined threshold:
- receive a signal from the second sensor;
- determine if the signal received from the second sensor exceeds a second predetermined threshold;
- and
- in response to determining the signal received from the second sensor does exceed the second predetermined threshold, return a first alert via the output to a user.

A wearable device for an animal comprising:
- a processor;
- an output;
- a first sensor, second, and third sensor;
- and
- memory storing computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to:
- receive a first signal from the first sensor;
- receive a second signal from the second sensor;
- receive a third signal from the third sensor;
- combine the first, second, and third signals into a weighted combined signal;
- determine if the weighted combined signal exceeds a first predefined threshold;
- and
- in response to determining that the weighted combined signal exceeds the first predefined threshold, return a first alert via the output to a user.
