Abstract
The invention in this document is related to the field of preparation of 1,3-(substituted-diaryl)-1,2,4-triazoles and certain intermediates derived therefrom, where said intermediates are useful in the preparation of certain pesticides disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 8,178,658.
Claims6
A process comprising:
- (1a) reacting a compound of formula 1.2 with a
- (A) (APG-NH-phenyl)boronic acid or (APG-NH-phenyl)boronic ester or potassium (APG-NH-phenyl)trifluoroborate salt to produce a compound of formula 3.1;
- or
- (B) (H2N-phenyl)boronic acid or (H2N-phenyl)boronic ester or potassium (H2N-phenyl)trifluoroborate salt to produce a compound of formula 2.2
- wherein
- X is Cl, Br, or I
- R1 is a (C1-C6) haloalkoxy;
- R3 is H and R4 is a amine protecting group (APG);
- and
- said reacting is conducted in the presence of a base, a palladium catalyst, a polar, aprotic solvent and water.
