Abstract
This invention relates to hydrophilic polymer compositions and a preferred application therefore, viz., hydrophilic medical device coatings. The hyaluronic acid hyaluronon by itself or modified as described herein advantageously reacts with compositions disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 7,776,956 to produce hydrophilic compositions and coatings particularly useable with medical devices.
Claims25
An HA-based composition comprising the reaction product of:
- a. (HA), hyaluronon;
- and
- b. modified glycidol carbamate (GC) epoxide having its formula of I or II:
- wherein:
- n ranges from 1 to 50;
- R2 is independently an optionally substituted, divalent C1-C15 alkyl, optionally substituted divalent C3-C15 cycloalkyl, or a group selected from
- and R3 is independently an optionally substituted C1-C15 alkyl or an optionally substituted divalent C3-C10 cycloalkyl.
