Abstract
Provided herein are compounds of the formula (I): as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein the substituents are as those disclosed in the specification. These compounds, and the pharmaceutical compositions containing them, are useful for the treatment of degenerative diseases and disorders.
Claims31
A compound of formula (I):
- wherein:
- X is —C(O)— or a single bond;
- R1 and R2 are, independently of each other, hydrogen, lower alkyl or halogen;
- R3 is unsubstituted lower alkyl or lower alkyl mono-substituted with —C≡CH, piperidinyl, —N3, morpholinyl or phenyl, wherein R3 is not methyl when X is —C(O)—;
- R4 is
- (i) pyridinyl, unsubstituted or mono- or bi-substituted independently with halogen, hydroxyl, alkoxy or —C≡CH,
- (ii) phenyl, unsubstituted or mono-, bi- or tri-substituted independently with alkoxy or hydroxy,
- (iii) 1H-indol-3-yl, or
- (iv) 1-benzoyl-1H-indol-3-yl;
- and
- R5 is hydroxyl or —OBz,
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
