Compounds for the treatment of neurologic disorders

A compound of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester, prodrug or derivative thereof:

• wherein:
• each X is independently C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxyl, C(═O)—C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, hydroxyl, halo, nitro or cyano;
• k is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5;
• Z is CH or N;
• L is —NR1—(CR3R4)n—NR2—, —(CR3R4)n—NR2—, —O—(CR3R4)n—NR2—,
• wherein each R1 and R2 is independently H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, or C6-12 aralkyl;
• each R3 and R4 is independently H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C6-12 aralkyl, C1-6 alkoxyl, C(═O)—C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, hydroxyl, halo, nitro or cyano;
• or CR3R4 is C═O;
• n is 1, 2, 3, or 4;
• M is —CH—CH(OH)— or —CH(CH2OH)—;
• Y is
• wherein R5 is H or C1-6 alkyl.
