Abstract
Provided for are lubricant base stocks with improved filterability. The lubricant base stock includes a bright stock or a heavy neutral and an effective amount of a pour point depressant. The filterability of the base stock as measured by the Membrane Filtration Method is less than or equal to 400 seconds. Also provided for are lubricating oils with improved filterability and methods of improving the filterability of lubricant base stocks.

A lubricant base stock comprising a bright stock or a heavy neutral and an effective amount of a pour point depressant, wherein the filterability of the base stock as measured by the Membrane Filtration Method is less than or equal to 400 seconds.
A lubricating oil comprising a lubricant base stock and an effective amount of one or more lubricant additives, wherein the base stock includes a bright stock or a heavy neutral and an effective amount of a pour point depressant, wherein the filterability of the base stock as measured by the Membrane Filtration Method is less than or equal to 400 seconds.
A method of improving the filterability of a lubricant base stock comprising providing a bright stock or a heavy neutral and a pour point depressant, and adding an effective amount of the pour point depressant to the bright stock or heavy neutral, wherein the filterability of the base stock as measured by the Membrane Filtration Method is less than or equal to 400 seconds.
