Abstract
A spectrum channel sharing system may coordinate a shared usage of one or more spectrum channels between a first communication system and a second communication system. The first communication system may transmit a request to the second communication system to clear communication traffic associated with the second communication system from a spectrum channel. The first communication system may then initiate a communication session on the spectrum channel after the communication traffic associated with the second communication system has been at least partially cleared from the spectrum channel.
Claims27
A computer-implemented method of sharing a channel by a first communication system and a second communication system, comprising:
- transmitting a request by a processor associated with the first communication system to a channel management server associated with the second communication system to clear communication traffic associated with the second communication system from a spectrum channel;
- and
- initiating a communication session for the first communication system on the spectrum channel after the communication traffic associated with the second communication system has been at least partially cleared from the spectrum channel.
A spectrum channel sharing system, comprising:
- a computer processor associated with a first communication system;
- a computer memory device coupled with the computer processor;
- and
- a channel sharing application stored in the computer memory and executable by the computer processor to cause the computer processor to:
- transmit a request to a channel management server associated with a second communication system to clear communication traffic associated with the second communication system from a spectrum channel;
- and
- initiate a communication session for the first communication system on the spectrum channel after the communication traffic associated with the second communication system has been at least partially cleared from the spectrum channel.
A computer-implemented method of sharing a spectrum channel by a first communication system and a second communication system, comprising:
- using a spectrum channel by the second communication system to support communication traffic;
- receiving a request at a channel management server associated with the second communication system from the first communication system to clear the communication traffic from the spectrum channel;
- and
- clearing at least a portion of the communication traffic from the spectrum channel in response to the request.
A spectrum channel sharing system, comprising:
- a computer processor associated with a communication system;
- a computer memory device coupled with the computer processor;
- and
- a channel management server application stored in the computer memory and executable by the computer processor to cause the computer processor to:
- use a spectrum channel by the communication system to support communication traffic;
- receive a request from a different communication system to clear the communication traffic from the spectrum channel;
- and
- clear at least a portion of the communication traffic from the spectrum channel in response to the request.
