Handover method and apparatus in a wireless communication system including femto cells

A User Equipment (UE) performing a handover in a wireless communication system including a Home eNB (HeNB), the UE comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal;
• and
• a controller configured to send a first measurement report to a source eNB, the first measurement report including a cell IDentifier (ID) of a target HeNB, to receive a control message to perform system information acquisition, from the source eNB, to receive system information including the Cell ID, a Tracking Area ID (TAI) and a CSG (Closed Subscriber Group) ID, from the target HeNB, to generate and send a second measurement report, the second measurement report including Tracking Area ID (TAI) and CSG (Closed Subscriber Group) ID of the target HeNB, and to receive a handover command message from the source eNB.

A source eNodeB(eNB) in a wireless communication system including a Home eNodeB (HeNB), the source eNB comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal;
• and
• a controller configured to receive a first measurement report from a User Equipment(UE), the first measurement report including a cell IDentifier (ID) of a target HeNB, to send a control message to perform system information acquisition, to the UE, to receive a second measurement report, the second measurement report including Tracking Area ID (TAI) and CSG (Closed Subscriber Group) ID of the target HeNB, and to send a handover command message to the UE.
