Abstract
The present invention relates to an electronic device and a method of operating the electronic device. There are provided an electronic device and a method of operating the electronic device that may more effectively resolve handover request collisions by using a specific field value included in a handover request message.
Claims10
A method of establishing a communication link between a first electronic device and a second electronic device, the method comprising:
- receiving a first handover select message including plural alternative carrier information from the second electronic device,
- wherein each of the plural alternative carrier information includes first power state information being set to an inactive state;
- transmitting a handover request message including one of the plural alternative carrier information to the second electronic device;
- receiving a second handover select message in response to the handover request message from the second electronic device,
- wherein the second handover select message includes second power state information of the one of the plural alternative carrier information, the second power state information being set to an active state;
- and
- establishing the communication link based on the one of the plural alternative carrier information.
An electronic device for establishing a communication link between a first electronic device and a second electronic device, the electronic device comprising:
- a receiver configured to receive from the second electronic device a first handover select message including plural alternative carrier information and a second handover select message in response to a handover request message,
- wherein each of the plural alternative carrier information includes first power state information being set to an inactive state, and
- wherein the second handover select message includes second power state information of one of the plural alternative carrier information, the second power state information being set to an active state;
- a transmitter configured to transmit to the second electronic device the handover request message including the one of the plural alternative carrier information;
- and
- a controller configured to establish the communication link based on the one of the plural alternative carrier information.
