Abstract
Disclosed is a system and methods to enable the interactive management of incoming and outgoing communications in an automated or manual fashion.

A method for manipulating graphical user interface (GUI) objects that represent communication media messages, the GUI objects displayed on a display of a data processing system, the method comprising:
- a) receiving messages from multiple message originators via one or more message services including telephone, short message service (SMS), and electronic mail (e-mail) message services, the messages including an originator identifier (ID);
- b) using the originator ID, determining among several available queues, into which a queue entry representing the particular message is initially placed from sender profile information associated with the originator ID;
- c) generating a visual element for the query entry from the originator ID and from the sender profile information;
- d) displaying a plurality of the available queues on the display, the display of each available queue including one or more visual elements in each queue as a GUI object;
- and
- e) via a user interface, accepting an input indicating that one of the visual elements is to be moved from to a new queue.

A method for processing queue entries that represent communication media messages, the queue entries stored in multiple queues managed by a data processing system, the method comprising:
- a) receiving messages from multiple message originators via one or more message services including telephone, short message service (SMS), and electronic mail (e-mail) message services, the messages including an originator identifier (ID);
- b) using the originator ID, determining among several available queues, into which a queue entry representing the particular message is automatically placed from sender profile information associated with the originator ID;
- c) displaying a status of the several available queues on a display, the display of ii each available queue including one or more queue entries;
- and
- d) accepting user input indicating that at least one queue entry is to be moved to new one of the available queues.
