Method and apparatus for controlling receive diversity on a wireless device

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• means for determining a threshold value based on a first parameter related to communication of a wireless device;
• means for determining to enable or disable receive diversity at the wireless device based on a second parameter and the threshold value;
• and
• means for receiving data transmission with receive diversity at the wireless device when a determination is made to enable receive diversity.

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• circuitry configured to
• determine a threshold value based on a first parameter related to communication of a wireless device;
• determine to enable or disable receive diversity at the wireless device based on a second parameter and the threshold value;
• and
• receive data transmission with receive diversity at the wireless device when a determination is made to enable receive diversity.

A computer program product, comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising:
• code for causing at least one computer to determine a threshold value based on a first parameter related to communication of a wireless device;
• code for causing the at least one computer to determine to enable or disable receive diversity at the wireless device based on a second parameter and the threshold value;
• and
• code for causing the at least one computer to receive data transmission with receive diversity at the wireless device when a determination is made to enable receive diversity.
