Abstract
An electrical connector adapted for connection to a bus bar includes a dielectric housing, a conductive insert, and a cable interface. The cable interface may include a cable crimp lug and clinch nut, a combined cable crimp and crimp nut, or an integral cable crimp.

An electrical connector comprising:
- a conductive element, said conductive element comprising:
- a base having a first side and a second side, a first leg depending from said first side of said base and a second leg depending from said first side of said base, wherein said base, said first leg, and said second leg cooperate to form a first interior region of said conductive element, wherein said first interior region is adapted to receive a mating connector element,
- a first crimp ear depending from a second side of said base, said first crimp ear defining a first crimp half barrel;
- and
- a second crimp ear depending from said second side of said base, said second crimp ear defining a second crimp half barrel;
- said first crimp half barrel cooperating with said second crimp half barrel to define a second interior region of said conductive element, wherein said second interior region of said conductive element is adapted to receive a cable, and wherein said first crimp half barrel and said second crimp half barrel are adapted to be crimped onto said cable.

- a conductive element, said conductive element comprising:
- a base having a first side and a second side, a first leg depending from said first side of said base and a second leg depending from said first side of said base, wherein said base, said first leg, and said second leg cooperate to form a first interior region of said conductive element, wherein said first interior region is adapted to receive a mating connector element;
- said base defining an aperture extending from said first side to said second side, said aperture being located between said first leg and said second leg, said aperture adapted to receive a mating threaded fastener.
An electrical connector system comprising:
- a conductive element, said conductive element comprising:
- a base having a first side and a second side, a first leg depending from a first side of said base and a second leg depending from said first side of said base, wherein said base, said first leg, and said second leg cooperate to form a first interior region of said conductive element, said first interior region adapted to receive a mating connector element;
- said base defining an aperture extending from said first side to said second side, said aperture being located between said first leg and said second leg;
- a threaded fastener extending through said aperture;
- and
- a crimp nut having a first end adapted for threaded engagement with said threaded fastener and a second end adapted for crimped connection to a cable.
